Types of Infrastructure Projects in Construction Industry

Infrastructure is what helps everything (people and products) to move from one place to another, worldwide. It can include roads, train lines, bridges, tunnels, ports, and much more. Important functions like electricity and water flow are still alive across nations because of proper infrastructure development.

These infrastructural facilities consist of numerous financial and social areas like Energy (Coal, Oil, Electricity), Irrigation, Transportation and Communication, Banking, Finance and Insurance, Science and Technology and different social areas like education, health, and hygiene.

All these facilities at the same time constitute the infrastructure of every country. Like other countries, the development method of India is placing much emphasis on the growth of infrastructure.

There are 4 types of infrastructure that are everyone across nations:

Highways and Roads: These are the common type of infrastructure. Streets, roads, and highways help to connect people to different cities or towns. Resurfacing and reconstruction of these infrastructures is needed from time to time.

Bridges: Some bridges might be weak in structure but they are not tagged as unsafe because they just need some polishing and repairs. Project managers have to carefully plan the work of maintenance and repair of bridges and accordingly procure the repair materials.

Power Generation Plants: Infrastructure projects include the construction of power generation and transmission plants. The power plants must be well maintained so that the electricity supply has adequate storage and it is transmitted properly.

Storage of Hazardous waste: It is an important infrastructure and this kind of project is highly responsible for the safe storage of nuclear and hazardous chemical materials.

The infrastructure and construction industry in India has been experiencing a fast boom in its sectors with the development of urbanization and the growing involvement of foreign investments in this area. The Government has introduced a unique package for Housing, Construction and other services, on the way to facilitate the improvement of urban infrastructure.

Types of Lightning Arresters for Outdoor Application

Lightning arresters are used as a protective device which conducts the high voltage surge on the electricity machine to the ground to avoid the damage. The lightning arresters are used to protect the electrical fences. Lightning arresters used in electric substations are big devices, such as a porcelain tube several feet long and also several inches in diameter, commonly filled with discs of zinc oxide. A safety port at the side of the tool vents the occasional internal explosion without shattering the porcelain cylinder. On the basis of class, lightning arresters are classified into different types: 1. Station Class: Station Class arresters are designed to protect the electrical equipment above 20 mVA range. This type of lightning arrester is used in power stations and substations, high voltage structures or areas. 2. Intermediate Class: This type is used to protect electrical equipment which ranges from 1 to 20 mVA . Intermediate Class is used in medium voltage equip...
